“Don’t count the days, make the days count.”
-Muhammed Ali
There are many things in life that we don’t have control of: the weather, traffic and time for example. However, we do have control over what we actually do with the time we have. In today’s quote legendary boxer Muhammed Ali core message is that we need to make the days we are here on this earth count rather than just counting the days. Too often many of us get into a bad habit of not getting the most out of our days because we feel we have tomorrow, next week or next month to get going on whatever we may be procrastinating on: cleaning the garage, applying for the job you really want or completing that unfinished manuscript.
As I have written about in previous posts, tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us. We go through this life only once and can only experience what life has to offer if we choose to come off the sidelines and play in the big game: the big game of life. Each day should be lived with purpose and wanting to have an impact on others and the world around you. The question is: are you going to take charge of your life or let life take charge of you?
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards managing yourself better?
