Becoming The Change: Our Greatest Challenge

“Our greatest challenge is to summon the courage to push our own boundaries and challenge ourselves. It’s in these moments of bravery that we truly grow.”

-The Daily Coach

One the toughest challenges for us as humans is having the ability to take a step back and recognize that moment within ourselves, when it is time for us to put in the past our preconceived thoughts as to what we feel are own limitations and go further than we ever thought possible in order to truly become the change that we wish to be no matter the risk It is this level of vulnerability that we often turn away from due to uncertainty and potentially fear of failure. Today’s quote encourages us to remember that when we are faced with a certain level of adversity, more of our bravest moments will shine through that will ultimately lead us all towards greater growth.

Growth. Isn’t this what we all want out of our lives? To continually grow? I hope so. Otherwise, this life would become quite boring and very predictable. As an educator we are constantly encouraging our students to be take risks and if they fall, we tell them that is how they learn. However, we don’t take that same advice do we? We lose our sense of purpose. This can vary from leaving a school you have been at for your entire career to start at a new school or deciding to move up the leadership chain by becoming an Instructional Coach or an administrator. We need to take our own advice and take a leap of faith. If it doesn’t work out, so what?!?! At least we tried, which is more than what the majority do in all reality.

No one knows what you are capable of more than you. Next time when an opportunity presents itself to venture off of the beaten path, take it. Take the risk. Muster the courage to be vulnerable. Growth is right around the corner if you venture out of your comfort zone. Go from making yourself limited to becoming limitless.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards improving your self awareness?
