Our Moral Compass: Don’t Just Talk, Do Something

“Until you dig a hole, you plant a tree, you water it and make it survive, you haven’t done a thing. You are just talking.”

-Wangari Maathai

Often times people talk the talk but rarely walk the walk. There is bark, but no bite. Kenyan political activist Wangari Maathai reminds us in today’s quote that unless we actually take actionable steps in life when we say out loud that we are going to do something, then those words only become just that: words. We can only bring forth change within ourselves we we decide to do so first and foremost and then forge a plan of action to make the change happen. It all comes down to effort on our part. Yes we may be afraid that things may not turn out the way we may want them to but then who isn’t? It is time to make the leap and create change. You owe it to others. You owe it to yourself.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your responsible decision making skills?
