Our Moral Compass: Experience

“We do not learn by experience, but by our capacity for experience.”

-The Buddha

It is often said that experience comes with time in any area of focus. As the Buddha points out in today’s quote we learn by our capacity for experience not just on solely learning. We all have unlimited capacity to learn from any experience that we encounter but it all comes down to us deciding to open our hearts and minds in order to do so. We need to realize that we can only grow when we are willing to increase our capacity to do so. If we expect our children to have a growth mindset then so should we. It’s the right thing to do and serves as a positive model for all to follow.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your responsible decision making skills?
