What We Should All Nurture Our Mind With

“Nurture your mind with great thoughts. To believe in the heroic makes heroes.”

-Benjamin Disraeli

One of the the greatest assets that we all possess is our mindset and our ability to control our thoughts, emotions and behavior. However this by no means is an easy task. Former Prime Minister of Great Britain Benjamin Disraeli’s quote encourages us to nurture our mind with great thoughts and believe that through these thoughts heroism can take place. Heroism is where we, in the face of danger, combat adversity through feats of ingenuity, courage or strength. This is something that we all possess within ourselves if we take the time to believe that it is possible.

Think of what makes you happy, what inspires you. Think of your purpose or mission in life. What comes to mind? Your family, friends or the people that you serve each and every day? When we know our why, our thoughts become more focused and purposeful. Without even knowing it, we are nurturing those thoughts. This is why it is often encouraged that we meditate first thing in the morning and journal at night. Both help us set the tone for the day and help bring the day to a close. It helps to reset our mindset too.

No matter what we may be facing in life, our belief and the level of adversity it may take for us to pull through a difficult situation we realize that we are able to overcome anything through our courageous acts in facing the problem head on. Our inner strength to do this is there. We just need to tap into that greatness.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards managing yourself better?
