“The reality is that you’re not married to who you are; you can change it at any moment. The change might not be overnight, but nothing about you is concrete; its a construct. Anything that is constructed can be destroyed.”
-Humble the Poet
Whether we realize it or not, there are opportunities all around us. Who we are in this moment in time, does not designate who we are five minutes from now, let alone five years from now. The author Humble the Poet points this out in today’s quote. We have the ability to change at any moment. We don’t need to be content with who we are if we are aspiring to be more. Life is a journey, more so a process, one that is different for everyone. As he says, nothing about us is concrete. We are more like like a sculpture that is chiseled a little bit at a time as each experience we encounter gets us closer to becoming the change that we all wish to be. We must however be cautious that just like in life anything that is constructed can also be destroyed and the last thing we would ever want to do is inadvertently destroy all that we have taken the time to build: our purpose, our reputation, our livelihood. We ultimately decide whether we truly become the change or just wish it.
