“It doesn’t matter when we start. It doesn’t matter where we start. All that matters is that we start.”
-Simon Sinek
Often times we worry about things that we shouldn’t we worrying about. In addition to this we have a tendency to compare ourselves to others. This is a friendly reminder that all we need to be concerned with is ourselves and no one else. What I just said ties in with author, speaker and podcaster Simon Sinek’s quote from today and the importance of just starting when it comes to enacting either a change in ourselves or moving forward for a just cause. He first focuses on the fact that it doesn’t matter when we start. Sometimes we may not be physically or mentally prepared to partake in something and that is ok because we need to be comfortable in order to start any process. He then goes on to say that it doesn’t matter where we start because we are all on different points in the journey called life and for that simple fact the starting line will be different for each of us.
His main message is that we should just start, whether it be taking a single step towards what our goal is. As long as we are moving forward that is therein where the progress lies. No one should be content in staying where we are and not seeking continual growth. What matters most in life is that even when we are fearful for change and the unknown unless we take the leap of faith and just start on the path, we will never get to the destination.
