“Always have the highest bar for yourself. Wake up every day, and no matter how crappy you feel, want to change something for the better. Do something that makes you happy. Create something that inspires someone. Be someone’s light when they are hopeless.”
-Dave Grohl
Be the light. That is something that is a theme for this year in the county I work for and one of our Area Superintendents reminds us often of this phrase. In today’s quote musician Dave Grohl reminds us that we have the opportunity each and every day to do something wonderful if not for ourselves, for others. The biggest thing is it is all within what we ultimately decide to do. We can either set that bar high or low. Either way we have to live with the choice we make. We have the power to choose how we feel, especially if we want to change things for the better. We can turn our frown upside down.
The job we work or the calling we chose to answer at was our choice, no one forced us to choose the path we chose. What we do should make us happy and in return make the lives of others happy too. Its also our choice to create something wonderful that inspires someone to becoming the best version of themselves. Something that will make this world a better place. We can be that flicker of hope for those who need it most. It all begins with our choice to do so.
