Understanding the needs of others based on your actions is essentially what American contralto Marian Anderson’s quote is all about today. It is here where she said leadership is born out of and it is as true then as it is now. We cannot be effective leaders with we do not not lead with grace and compassion for others. It is imperative we look at things through their perspective and really be their guide on the side in order to help them in the best way possible. This may be just by listening and letting them vent as sometimes that is all they need to do and aren’t necessarily looking for you to “save them” with a profound solution, Other times that is exactly what they are needing. It all depends on the person you are helping. Patience is essential too. As leaders we also need to make sure we recognize how our decisions affect others and not just ourselves. We before me should always be the leadership motto.
