Becoming The Change: Becoming You

Meditation is a practice where its goal is to bring peace and tranquility to your mind, heart and soul. It is something that can be done for 5, 10 or 20 minutes. Once in the morning and another time at night if one chooses to do so. Becoming more and more ourselves is ultimately its purpose as filmmaker David Lynch mentions in today’s quote. One thing is certain is people feel that they have less and less time for themselves whether they blame work, home or just life in general. Meditation allows for that sacred and important alone time. A time to be at peace, channeling your inner calm. For those new to it, at first it may be a struggle to not really focus on anything other than your breath. It’s ok if other things flood your mind, stay the course. There are many meditation apps out their like Headspace or Calm. I have a lifetime membership to Calm where it has specific focus areas in addition to just meditating like anxiety, mindset, sleep stories and other teachings by famous and not so famous teachers. Now you do not need an app as you can just listen to calming music or go outside and listen to nature’s beauty. Whatever you decide, make sure you do it for you and give yourself some of that uninterrupted time back. Remember our greatest wealth is our mental health.
