Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s quote serves as a reminder for us to always live in the present and live in the moment. The reason being is this is all that we have: the here and now. Singer Kelly Clarkson sang as her first hit on American Idol “A Moment Like This” where as she says people wait a lifetime for a moment like this. Think about it. How many moments have you missed because you weren’t truly there. You may have been on your phone, watching tv or doing work for your job instead of being present with your family. Present with your friends. I know there have been many I have missed. Too many. And what saddens me for a brief moment is that I can never get those moments back. However, I realize that there are still so many more moments I have to experience and can be those opportunities to be present. Moments and being present in those moments is what life is all about.
