“Greatness is not measured by what a man or woman accomplishes, but by the opposition, he or she has overcome to reach his goals.”
-Dorothy Height
Greatness is often misunderstood by the pinnacle of a certain level of achievement that someone accomplishes. However as Social activist Dorothy Height points out in today’s quote to think in that manner one would be mistaken. It is the entire process and/or journey it took to get there. It is the trials, tribulations and obstacles one faces in order to reach that summit where greatness truly lies. It also comes from within us and our sheer will and determination to becoming our best selves. Its knowing that we hold the power to do something and become great and it is achieved not by fame or fortune. Look inside your heart and soul and you will find that greatness has been and will always be inside of you. Now its up to you to let others see your greatness shine through.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards defining/refining your own moral compass?
