“Mondays are a great day to focus on what we GET TO do instead of what we HAVE TO do. Life is a gift, not an obligation.”
-Jon Gordon
Let’s face it. For many of us Monday’s are the days of the week that are the least liked because it means the start of the work week or the school week. We look at it as something we have to do. But what if we were to recognize that this all has to do with what our perception of what Monday’s are instead of what they could truly be? Author Jon Gordon reminds us in today’s quote as Monday’s can be what we get to do and not what we have to do.
Ultimately each day, including Monday’s, should be looked at as a gift and not an obligation. No matter the day, we have 24 hours to make it the best day ever. Bring joy to someone else’s life, serve others or lead others. It is all within our own control. The challenge is creating a plan of action each night before we go to bed of all the things we will get to do the next day. This will serve as that motivation and thwart off those negative “have to” feelings.
Let’s realize all of the beauty that life has to offer us each and every day. The day of the week should never matter. Each day presents us with new hopes, possibilities and opportunities. Make them count.
