I’ve often said that the one relationship we can ill afford not to have is a positive one with ourselves. In today’s quote Melanie Koulouris reminds us the power that lies in having a positive relationship with ourselves. It is important to be confident but to remember to be humble in doing so. you do not want what starts out as confidence to turn into arrogance because with arrogance comes sloppiness. It causes us to in a sense to lose ourselves as to who we are and what we stand for.
Our character is what defines us in all that we do: our thoughts and our actions. As Koulouris points out we must be courageous in putting ourselves out there even if we are unsure if the character we possess will be accepted by others. Regardless it is the relationship with ourselves and whether we accept us for being us because at the end of the day that is all that matters.
