Becoming The Change Podcast (Episode 633): Surrender, Let Go and Have Faith

Welcome to the Becoming The Change Podcast. Each daily reading focuses on a different quote on how we can best apply it to our own moral compass and one of the five areas in Social Emotional Learning: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making. Thank you for listening and we hope you consider subscribing to the podcast for future episodes.

Surrender, Let Go and Have Faith

“Surrender to what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be.”

-Sonia Ricotti

The CEO of Lead Out Loud, Inc and known around the world as a “Bounce Back” expert Sonia Ricotti, for a lack of a better phrase hits the nail right on the head with today’s quote. It’s message is one that show live within our own self awareness makeup. Surrender, let go and have faith. Just three steps but definitely not easy ones to implement and follow through on. When we surrender to something we have the tendency to yield to the power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand. It can even be the situation for that matter. We typically have the mindset, and to a certain fault of our own, a sense of stubbornness of not wanting to give up or give in. The thing we must realize is that all of us, no matter who we are and how strong we think we are, have a breaking point and sometimes we do have to concede to the overall cause for something. When this happens we must remember too as Elsa sings in the movie Frozen “Let It Go.” Remember we cannot control the situation but we can control the way in which we react to it. In the long run letting go will most likely be what is best for us both physically as well as mentally. And finally having that faith in the process and that things will turn out how they were more likely intended to be will help put us on a path of contentment and hopefully a sense of comfort knowing that sometimes it is ok to turn the page and move on. This I think will help us bounce back in our lives and be ready for the future challenges that may lie ahead.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards improving your self awareness?
