Becoming The Change Podcast (Episode 686): Pure Joy

Welcome to the Becoming The Change Podcast. Each daily reading focuses on a different quote on how we can best apply it to our own moral compass and one of the five areas in Social Emotional Learning: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making. Thank you for listening and we hope you consider subscribing to the podcast for future episodes.

Pure Joy

“There is a joy in the pursuit of anything.”

-Robert Henri, The Art Spirit

Today’s quote by American painter Robert Henri reminds us that whatever we are most passionate about and direct our entire focus to will help bring forth that joy in pursuing anything. It can only occur through us having an “all in” mentality. It is important to remember that this joy is not from the end result but rather from the process itself. It can be through the research you are doing to acquire that new knowledge or the multiple experiences and levels of expertise that you may gain from working alongside others who also exhibit that same joy in pursuing that passion. By doing this the joy you are feeling can only increase and make this journey all the more satisfying. Pure joy brings true happiness.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards defining/refining your own moral compass?
