“Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.”
As a society we pride ourselve on have good, positive relationships. We need people and people need us. It is a give and take. As American writer Max Ehrmann mentions in today’s quote although being self disciplined is of utmost importance for each and every one of us, we must make sure that throughout this process we are moste gentle with ourselves. We are more often worried about how we treat others rather than ourselves. It is a selfless act but ignores the most important relationship: the one with ourselves.
Just as we show love and support to others during difficult or trying times, we need to do the same for ourselves too. Our own well being matters too. We deserve to treat our own mind, body and soul with heartfelt tenderness too. To be nurturing, understanding and patient. If we fail to do this we not only damage the relationship we have with ourselves but could potentially could lead towards negatively impacting all of the relationships that we love and cherish. Remember it all starts and ends with us; our own self love and self worth is a crucial piece in our relationship journey. There is nothing else that matters more.
