Why do you do what you do each and every day? This is a question that is not limited to just to the roles in our jobs if we have one but also what we do when we are not in them. Do you only seek out to do things in order to receive something in return for doing it or is it for the sake of what you gain from the experience? Or is it because you want to help others in order to make their lives better? French novelist and essayist Marguerite Yourcenar who wrote the novel Memoirs of Hadrian about the life and death of Roman Emperor Hadrian is where today’s quote comes from.
It serves as a reminder that when we intentionally go into each and every experience whole heartedly, that each moment is precious and valuable. It is through selflessness and random acts of kindness that comeback to us two fold because we do not seek out to get something back in return. We continually do things and live our lives through what our moral values and principles are. We must continue to lead with a servant leadership mindset and it is through all of this that makes our lives and the lives of others priceless.
