What It Means To Work In This World Lovingly

“To work in the world lovingly means that we are defining what we will be for, rather than reacting to what we are against.”

-Christina Baldwin

Author Christina Baldwin said that in order for us to work in a world we love or care about that we should spend our time defining what we will be for rather than spending out time reacting to what we are against. The question that I have for us is which side do we typically spend most of our time on: defining what we will be for or reacting to what we are against? Both are important but to me they are interconnected as they focus on bringing forth social awareness into the limelight. When I focus on those things that I am for, like equity for example, doesn’t that counteract what I am against anyway? By choosing this way, I can devote my efforts and the time spent on things that will bring forth positive change. It has always been important to me to continuously define my why as it keeps me centered and focused on the purpose as to what I am doing. I fear that if I am always in a reaction mode to the things that I am against, I myself will become a negative person which is something I have vowed never to fall prey to.

The world needs more of our focus to be on the good, on the joys that life has to offer; not just all the bad and heartache that is out there. Love should be the driver and that is what we should all be for.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards becoming more socially aware?
