“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”
-Jackie Robinson
Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play Major League Baseball was once quoted as saying “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” No truer words were spoken and are ones that I wholeheartedly agree with. We are only here on this planet for a short time and as is often said no one will remember what you did or how much money you made but they will remember how you made them feel. I have always believed in serving first and leading second. I was put on this earth to make others’ lives better and that has been and will always be my main mission in life. I want to ensure that whomever I meet, that I have had an impactful encounter with them and we have both benefited from the experience because I believe a true beneficial and powerful impact can only occur when both parties leave being better people than they were before meeting.
We always here about leaving your legacy and to me what would be a better legacy than one that positively impacts the lives of others? So let’s pay it forward and do just that.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
