Have you ever had moments in your life where someone told you that you couldn’t do something because they thought that you didn’t possess the necessary skills to get the job done? Did you listen to them and forget about making the attempt or did you just decide to push on through? If you did the former and regret it my hope is today’s quote and inspiring message from U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one that you will forever remember and use it to help you push through someone’s somewhat Doubting Thomas speech to you. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reminds us that whenever someone told her she wasn’t up to a challenge and doubted their worthiness she just tuned them out, remained focused and pushed on through. That there is the single most difficult thing to do when receiving criticism from the naysayers out there: ignoring it and their belief that you cannot achieve what you have set out to accomplish.
I believe we are the ones who are in control of our destiny and can make things happen. We are up to any challenge that we set our mind too. We are worthy of getting what we want if we are willing to work hard and fight for it. As I have said before, the only limits we have are the ones we put on ourselves. As the saying goes we needs to continue to keep the eye on the prize, practice daily grit and no matter how many times we get knocked down in life to get back up. We are all destined for greatness if we believe in ourselves. We are in the driver’s seat and have the keys to making all of our dreams come true and quite possibly those around us. Now it is time to turn that key, rev our engines and make it happen.
