Know What Is Right

“A president’s hardest task is not to do what is right, but know what is right.”

-Lyndon B. Johnson

When we are faced with making certain decisions in life the task at is is not to do what is right, but knowing what is right. President Lyndon B. Johnson’s quote refers to the decisions that a president has to make but this applies to all of us. Often times our head may tell us one thing but our heart tells us another. We need to realize that despite all of the facts we may have and the differing opinions we may have collected, we will know in our heart of hearts what is the right decision, not just for ourselves but for others. It is through our own discovery of what is right that we can then manage correctly, and with good intention, make the best decision possible. We know right from wrong. Plain and simple. It is a moral process we will go through multiple times in our lifetime but a process that will ultimately influence our ethical behavior and further define our moral character.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards improving your self awareness?
