“Patience is a form of wisdom. It demonstrates that we understand the fact that sometimes things must unfold in their own time.”
-Jon Kabat Zinn
One of the greatest challenges is when we are faced with uncertainties as to what the future may hold for us is remembering to remain patient. Trust the process. It is easier said than done I know. But as American professor Jon Kabat Zinn points out in today’s quote that wisdom is often seen in those that display patience. This does not mean we need to sit idly by and something will just fall in to our lap so to speak. Nothing is quite that simple.
With so many things within our grasp in this digital age with a click of a button we have the tendency to expect everything to happen for us instantaneously. And when it doesn’t we lose our cool. We need to recognize when this happens and make sure we pause, reflect and remember that as the saying goes “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Showing grit and perseverance is the key. Staying the course. Recognizing that with hard work and effort your time will come what is important.
Everything happens for a reason. We just need to be patient and when the time does eventually come it will be well worth it. Trust me.
