Our Moral Compass: Too Legit To Quit

“Ambition is refusing to quit on ourselves. Leadership is refusing to quit on others.”

-Simon Sinek

Ambition is often used as a internal driver to get things done for yourself and as author, speaker and podcaster Simon Sinek says more importantly that refusal to give up on yourself. That same level of ambition and drive can be the tools necessary to add into your own leadership toolbelt when it comes to your refusal to quit on others within your team. On of the most important qualities you can ever have within a strong relationship is having the support of someone and their refusal to give up on you and whatever you are wanting out of life.

There are many ways and reasons that we can show the importance of ensuring those that we care about that we will never quit on them. For starters we believe not only in them as a person but also in the dream that they have. We can convey to them that they possess the necessary qualities to achieve anything that they put their mind to. Sometimes they need someone to remind them of their why despite the obstacles that may be in their way as this can make all the difference to them. As a leader they need you to lead with resilience and that comes through in your continuous and never wavering support of them. Just as you hope that they will never lose their faith in your abilities, they hope that you never lot yours in them. It is a cyclical relationship.

It is a a difficult but necessary challenge that we remove the word quit from our vocabulary for ourselves and for those we lead in order to live a life of promises and fulfillment for everyone involved.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
