Our Lives Are Forever Intertwined
“We’re all alive, but we don’t know why or what for, we’re all searching for happiness, we’re all leading lives that are different and yet the same.”
-Anne Frank
The miracle of life is something that each of us much take the time to realize how blessed we are to be alive. This comes from knowing our why. One of the most discussed victims of the Holocaust was Anne Frank. When her Diary was found that depicted her life and experiences while in hiding from 1942 to 1944 from the Nazis, the contents within it especially on her reflections on life even at the age of 13 was remarkable. Today’s quote from her is no different. Most of us don’t know our why for living but know we are all searching for happiness and within although we may lead our lives differently, they are one in the same.
I think there are similarities of how we lead are lives lies in the pathways we choose to find that happiness that Anne Frank was referring to. Those pathways lead us to discover our why; sometimes this is quicker for some than others. These are all based on the decisions we make and come from the moral values we have engrained within us. To me it is those morals and values that help us to answer our calling and truly define our why. We are all more similar than we are different and I think that once we realize that we can better rely on one another to fully achieve our purpose in life.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards defining/refining your own moral compass?
