“Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.”
-Robin Williams
Even before the pandemic life has had its challenges for all of us. And theses challenges will continue after the pandemic is behind us. It’s much like riding a roller coaster in the dark. You don’t know when the ride will suddenly do a sharp turn or a drop that you weren’t expecting. The best that you can do is try to anticipate and hang on for dear life. When we go through these moments we may not be the type of person to readily share with others what we may be experiencing, which is completely ok as it is private to you and you only. In knowing this, we also need to recognize that the ones we love, our family, friends or co workers can be, as the late actor Robin Williams mentions in today’s quote, fighting their own battles that we may know nothing about. They could have a sick child or recently lost a loved one or lost their job. All of these things are beneath the surface and there may be people that struggle dealing with this and have a tendency to snap at others even when they don’t mean to. The message here is this: Be kind. Always. It is not difficult to do this and this would be beneficial to all involved and can cause them to also pay forward that same kindness to others.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
