“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”
-Franklin D. Roosevelt
Today’s quote by President Franklin D. Roosevelt is one that I think provides a powerful mindshift in how we should view things. We have always thought that we can control the future by building it for our youth but what is hard is knowing what that future will look like. It is truly unpredictable. However, we do have the opportunity to build our youth for the future because they are right there before us and we can help to guide them in shaping them into who we’d like them to become. We can teach them the necessary skills to make the be the best human being they can be. It is through this that we can build a strong foundation with them through our relationship with them as well. They need to understand that we can go far alone but even further if we do things together.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
