“If we can’t loop in kindness to productivity…if we can’t make practicing empathy, presence, and gratitude a part of productivity, then here’s what I know: we’ll never get to them.”
-Houston Kraft
We may not be able to control the things that are going around us but we can control the things that are within us. How we act and conduct our lives will have an impact on others. It is up to us as to whether it will be positive or negative. In today’s quote author, speaker and co-founder of Character Strong Houston Kraft he reminds us the importance of explicitly looping in kindness to productivity. This productivity is not necessarily monetary but rather something that does not have a price tag: being a decent human being. If we are empathetic towards other, are present and in the moment, while at the same time while embodying a high level of gratitude, gratitude for what we have and not for what we don’t, we will never reach the kind of productivity we would have wanted to.
Thee practices can only occur through our sheer will and consciousness to making it happen. No matter what is going on in the world, we can only control the cards we are dealt in life and play our hand from there. Sometimes we will win and sometimes we will lose. There aren’t any guarantees. However, the one guarantee of things becoming worse for ourselves is if we quit on ourselves and our own progress. No matter what life throws at us, let us stay strong in our belief in ourselves and what we hope the world can and should be.
