Remember, You Are The Captain of Your Own Ship
“Never let society determine the direction of your moral compass.”
-Author Unknown
We must always remember that we are the captain of our own ship and are responsible for ourselves. So when it comes to outside pressures from society we need to look deep within us and measure the decision we are needing to that of the standards we hold dear that makes up our moral compass. I often tell my students and my own daughter you should never feel the pressure to ever try and fit in with a crowd when they are doing something that goes against what you believe in. If they cannot accept who you are then they are not really worth your time. I think we need to remind ourselves as adults this same philosophy from time to time so we don’t ever forget what we value because at the end of the day we are the ones that have to live with the choices we make.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your moral compass?
