“Iron sharpens Iron. Never stop learning from others.”
-Ben Newman
Performance Coach, International Speaker and Best-Selling Author Ben Newman’s quote is one that serves as reminder that we need one another in more ways than one. For today’s purpose is that we should never stop learning from others. He compares each of us to that of iron in saying that iron sharpens iron. This is often seen as being something positive in that wise people should be questioning, encouraging, coaching, and challenging each other on a daily. It is where when we bring our “A” game on a daily basis and contribute to others and their own learning we improve our learning too. We should always be looking to continuously grow both professionally and personally. It is true this can happen from what we study and what books we may read. However, the power of positive relationships with others can increase our learning capability ten fold and lead to long term benefits because of the experiences we can create from it. Let us live with an open heart and an open mind. In doing so, it will lead to growth both emotionally and intellectually; not a bad combo if you ask me.
