Are You Fully Awake In Your Own Life?

“Mindfulness is about being fully awake in our lives.”

-Jon Kabat-Zinn

We are often awake between 14-18 hours a day give or take but the question I have for you is this: during that time that you are awake, are you actually fully awake in your own life or are just going through the motions? Just existing? American professor Jon Kabat-Zinn’s quote reminds us that only when we are mindful of all that is around us and truly in the moment can we fully be awake in our own lives.

It’s important to live life to the fullest, recognize and acknowledge what you are grateful for and spread peace, love and hope to everyone you come across. Each of us can and should live a life that impacts the lives of one another each and everyday. When we realize the gifts we have to offer this world, what a wonderful world this would truly be.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards improving your self awareness?
