Practice Makes Muscle

“Practice puts brains in your muscles.”

-Samuel Snead

We have often heard that practice makes perfect while others will say practice makes improvement. But have you heard that practice makes muscles? Well more specifically that practice puts brains in your muscles? According to Legendary golfer Samuel Snead practice does this through us always tapping into and utilizing our greatest resource: our mind. We must always make effort to take the time to work out those brain muscles by continuing to educate ourselves by doing such things reading, listening to podcasts and through the experiences in what we do for a living or the experiences we encounter.

Some of the ways in which we can improve our own brain fitness is through playing games, meditation and eating healthy food for your brain stimulation. When we turn off the television and read a book we are able to expand our minds and in turn could learn a new skill or further enhance one we currently possess. Exercising our body is a great way to also exercise our brain. It truly is a 2 for 1 deal. Doing a puzzle or doing a project taps into different areas of your brain, specifically your problem solving skills. If we teach someone else a new skill we deepen our learning too during this process. There are many other ways to continue to grow our mental capabilities if we take the time to nourish them. Its all within our control to do so.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards managing yourself better?
