Becoming The Change: Growing Flowers or Weeds

“Our mind is a garden, our thoughts are the seeds, you can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.”

-Rita Ghatoure

Our mind and the thoughts we allow to protrude within our own heads is ours and ours alone to control. The positive and the negative thoughts that is. As Rita Ghatoure refers in today’s quote, our mind is our own garden, one in which we tend to on a daily basis and multiple times throughout the day. She refers to our thoughts as being seeds, seeds that when tended to can help our mind and/or garden flourish.

Now the question is will our mind or garden flourish with flowers or weeds? The choice is ours and how we are able to self regulate our emotions and actions. Will we allow weeds into our garden from time to time? Yes. But it is important that we recognize when this negativity is creeping in and focus on the positive which will essentially weed out those pesky weeds/negative thoughts. We are the gardener of our own minds and it is up to us to lead with that proverbial green self management thumb.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards managing yourself better?
