Becoming The Change: Our Greatest Test

“In the end, it matters less that you can fight. What you fight for is the real test.”

-John McCain

In our lives we will come across many tests. These tests go beyond the ones we have taken in school. Did they matter? At the time they did. However, they were never long lasting. For the most part with any significance. Over time they just become another test that we took and more than likely have really no impact on where we are today. The ultimate test is what we face in life. What matters to us. What we are willing to sacrifice.

As John McCain points out in today’s quote it doesn’t matter so much that we fight. People fight all of the time. The question is what are you fighting for? World Peace? Equity? Better schools? The list is endless. We need to decide here and now what it is we are truly passionate about. When we determine what that something is, it is a test we cannot fail. Our grit and sheer will drives us to fight the good fight. Never lose sight of why you are fighting and who you are fighting for. We can only overcome life’s challenges when we truly focus on what is important. What matters to us and to others.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards becoming more socially aware?
