“We’re in a very divisive moment. And if there’s one thing these phenomena hopefully help you understand, is that we shouldn’t be so dismissive of each other and each other’s experiences. There’s a lot that we don’t know.”
-Dr. Mona Sobhani
Often times we take many of the moments we experience for granted. These moments typically involve others we may know or don’t know and it is there that we need to become more open minded as well as open hearted. As Neuroscientist Dr. Mona Sobhani cautions us in today’s quote that it comes down to our decisions whether we embrace or dismiss these divisive moments as well as be willing to learn from one another and from the experiences they may have been through.
From each person who comes into our lives we have the opportunity to learn something new if we look hard enough. We cannot be passive or selective when it comes to this because as she says there is a lot that we don’t know. We must allow ourselves to embrace those that are either around us all of the time or those that we may encounter for a mere five minutes. It could potentially be the greatest learning experience of our lives. It’s imperative that we do not miss it.
