Becoming The Change: The Beauty Around Us That Matters Most

“Cherish sunsets, wild creatures and wild places. Have a love affair with the wonder and beauty of the earth.”

-Stewart Udall

Do you ever stop to notice how beautiful the world is? The sights, the sounds, all of it. If you are like me you have the tendancy to forget the beauty of such simple things such as a sunrise or for that matter a sunset. How the sun’s rays just glisten off of the water while the birds fly across giving you the picturesque type of view.

In today’s quote Former US Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall reminds us to make sure we take the time to celebrate nature. Not just some of it, but all of it. From those cherished sunsets he mentions to the creatures in the wild. He encourages us to embrace all that this world has to offer. We have the tendency to focus on all that might be wrong in the world but when we stop to really think about it, there is so much in the world that is so right.

Try taking a stroll along the beach or within a local park. Breathe in the crisp air. Feed the ducklings at the pond. There is so much that this world has to offer. Don’t forget to take time to cherish the world around you. Heaven really is a place on earth.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards becoming more socially aware?
