Don’t Be Just A Dreamer

One of the most popular hit songs made by the 1960’s band The Monkees was the song Daydream Believer with its message being one that we must be hopeful of our future. While this thought is good initially the problem is that if we only stay in that daydreaming state that really is where the dream starts and dies. In today’s quote, American businesswoman and founder of Estee Lauder Cosmetics, Inc Estee Lauder said she never dreamed of success, she just worked for it. It is a short but powerful quote that shows us that success is never given but is earned through hard work and dedication.
Estee Lauder’s childhood was spent trying to make ends meet and along with her eight siblings worked at her family’s hardware store at a young age and that experience taught her what it meant to be an entrepreneur and what it took to be a successful retailer. She helped her Uncle sell beauty products such as creams, lotions and fragrances. During this time Estee learned from him how to wash her face properly and do facial massages. This led to her to gain more experience in the business world prompting her to launch Estee Lauder Cosmetics which is company that is worldwide.
She proved that you do not need to come from wealth to reach high levels of success. As long as you work hard, have a willingness an drive to learn while taking certain risks, new doors will open for you and future opportunities. Dreams are a wonderful starting point to envision what you want to achieve in life but again it is just the start. What it all comes down to is this: it is up to you to be self-disciplined in ensuring you will do whatever it takes to reach your definition of the success. It is up to you to maintain motivation throughout the journey towards being successful. This comes through constantly setting goals and making sure that everything you do is carefully planned out. When you put forth the effort that success requires, the sky is limitless.
