“After all, if I can’t be myself, who can?”
-Patrick Dennis
As we all know, the only person that we have control over is ourselves. And in today’s quote American author Patrick Dennis reminds that at the end fo the day we can only be ourselves too. There is no one like you. You are unique from not only head to toe but what lies inside you as well. This is what makes you and I so special. In education we as educators (especially in Elementary school) remind our students of this each and every day. I believe it is something that we as adults need to remind ourselves of this as well no matter how old we get.
It is important for our own well being and mental health for that matter to give ourselves our very own “shout out” so to speak celebrating who we are each and every day. We need that kind of boost ourselves because if we do not take the time to care for ourselves how can we really care for others? We need to remember that there is only one of us and we are a gift to the world and the people we come into contact with. We have the potential to be at our very best each day and the people that we engage with need to see that too. There is no one like you and that is something to cherish for the rest of your life.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards managing yourself better?
