Our Moral Compass: We Are Better Together

“You can’t do it alone. So don’t pretend you can.”

-Simon Sinek

Author and motivational speaker Simon Sinek’s quote is one that serves as a reminder of something that we need to hear now and again: we shouldn’t try and fool ourselves in that we don’t need anyone and that we can do everything on our own. Why? Because it is pretty much impossible. There is always someone or something that helps us at some point in our lives reach our highest potential. And besides…..when you pretend that you can do everything on your own you are really only lying to yourself. It isn’t worth it.

It is in our nature to not do things in isolation; it is however for us to be a part of a group. To feel needed and want to be needed. If that wasn’t the case then each of us would be on our own island far a part from one another. But we aren’t on an island by ourselves. We are here together for a reason and for a greater purpose than you and I may ever know.

It is up to us to realize that we are all better together than apart. So let’s make sure to never pretend we are better off alone. We need to lean on one another in order for us to overcome whatever life has in store for us.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards developing your relationship skills?
