But ultimately, as International and keynote speaker John Ruhlin points out in today’s quote, our success rises and falls on the quality of our relationships. This something that will take constant work on our part to maintain not only quality relationships but healthy ones for that matter.
Amherst College recently provided 10 tips for healthy relationships as when we have these it will increase our happiness, improve our health and reduce our stress. By implementing these will helps us reach the pinnacle of success that we all desire:
1. Keep expectations realistic.
2. Talk with each other.
–Take the time.
–Genuinely listen.
–Ask questions.
–Share information.
3. Be flexible.
4. Take care of yourself, too.
5. Be dependable.
6. Fight fair.
–Cool down before talking.
–Use “I statements.”
–Keep your language clear and specific.
–Focus on the current issue
–Take responsibility for mistakes.
–Recognize some problems are not easily solved.
