Our Moral Compass: Gratefulness

“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”

-Oprah Winfrey

Gratefulness is something that many people think about about rarely take the time to actually apply it to anything. TV host, actress, author and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey reminds us in today’s quote that when we take the time look at all that life has to offered us it really is something to stop and celebrate. Too often we get caught up in things that in the long run are not really as important as we may think they are. The fact that we are alive is a gift in itself. We need to take a moment and be grateful to the family we may have, the job we have or even that we have a roof over our head.

There are countless reasons to celebrate and rejoice. Take some time today to list all of the things that you are grateful for and keep that list somewhere where you can always refer to it when times and certain days become tougher than others. And if we become lost along the way, make sure to let your moral compass help you to rediscover all the joys of life because it is there and is always there, if you take the time and effort to embrace it.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards defining/refining your own moral compass?
