Our Moral Compass: Having An Optimistic Point of View

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”

-Helen Keller

So I have a question for you. Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Do you look at a glass of water filled up halfway as half full or half empty? I fall towards that half full side of things. In today’s quote American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer Helene Keller optimism has the potential to equal high levels of achievement. It is through having that growth mindset which allows for optimism to take place in any situation. The two factors that contribute to this as Keller refers to is hope and confidence.

When we are given hope this allows for our confidence to grow which in turn leads towards optimism becoming that new positive state of mind. I came across an interesting article by renoforklift.com that provides 7 Ways to Bring Forth Hope and Kindness. I believe when we live our life with hope it will help everything else fall into place. Here are the 7 ways that we can all bring forth hope to others and for ourselves:

  1. Demonstrate love and care

2. Make them feel they deserve happiness

3. Show them acceptance

4. Offer help

5. Show them appreciation

6. Help them find their passion

7. Stay connected

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards defining/refining your own moral compass?
