We All Need More Laughter in Our Lives

“The most completely lost of all days is that on which one has not laughed.”

-Nicolas Chamfort

As we know, we are in charge of our own emotions even though at times we may not think so. The one emotion in particular that should be a part of our emotional repertoire is laughter. French writer Nicolas Chamfort once was quoted as saying essentially that the days in which we do not have laughter are the days in which we have lost. We should always take time to laugh: laugh with others and even laugh at ourselves. For myself personally I have found that laughter has played a huge part in how I live each and every day and is has made my mindset an overall positive one.

If you take time to really think about it there are many ways in which you can bring more laughter into your life. The beauty in it all is that you can control how much laughter and the joy that comes with that laughter in everything you do. In a 2016 blog written by Bustle’s Isadora Baum she listed several things we can do to laugh more every day:

1. Laugh Loud & Proud

2. Hit Up YouTube

3. Share Stories From The Past

4. Watch Your Favorite TV Show

5. Surround Yourself With Funny People

6. Learn To Laugh At Yourself

7. Find The Humor In A Serious Matter

8. Start With A Smile

9. Listen To A Funny Podcast On Your Commute

10. Hang Out With A Kid

11. Keep A Silly Scrapbook

These are just some suggestions as there are many out there. Just make to make the time to laugh every day and your life overall will be better for it.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards managing yourself better?
