The Spark of Life

A book that I have often referenced to people and within this blog/podcast is A Flicker of Hope by Julia Cook. Its premise is to say that HOPE is our children’s window for a better tomorrow. In terms of resilience and well-being, hope is a critically important predictor of success. It reminds children and adults that dark clouds can be temporary and asking for help is always okay. We all have times when we need to borrow a little hope from someone else.
Social entrepreneur Kenny Ausubel’s quote for today refers us to exactly that same line of thinking. We each have a spark inside us which he refers as our spark of life. In this we are challenged with reaching our highest purpose which he believes is to set that same spark in one another. In essence to pay things forward. That to me is at the heart of any relationship. It is an equal balance of give and take. No relationship ever survives when it is one sided.
There are times that we are the ones who help inspires someone who may be down in the dumps and needs a pick up. And sometimes this is done by others when we need that same pick me up. If we remember our true purpose is serving others then we can help others reach their highest potential and without even knowing, ours too.
