Every day of our lives we make decisions like what to eat or what to wear but when there is a decision to be made that could affect either our own well-being or the well-being of others, the word “responsible” becomes a focal point in the decision making process. We have an obligation to engage in a full cycle of being a responsible decision maker by identifying the problem, analyzing it (and the potential results of the decision being made), making the choice, evaluating the choice and then reflecting on the decision made. The factors taken into consideration to the decision being made should coincide with your own personal behavior, your social interaction with others based on your ethical standards and relationship skills.
In today’s quote its message is straightforward: no one else is responsible for the choices and decisions that we make except ourselves. We need to remember to always weigh our options, think about who might be affected by our decision and most importantly if it aligns with our own moral values. Remember you have to live with your decisions and the repercussions that could come as a result of them.
