“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.”
-Unknown
So many moments that happen to us in our lives are very precious and special to us. However, as today’s quote points out two of them are the most important. The first is very obvious: the day we are born. This moment is when our life’s journey begins. We are like a blank piece of paper just waiting for life’s experiences to help write our own story. However, that true story only begins when we know what our purpose is in life.
Simon Sinek refers to it ad finding our why. Why we exist. For me it is to serve, lead and inspire others both in my profession as an educator but also as a husband, father, son, brother, friend and colleague to all of those I have the chance to have any sort of positive impact on. If I can leave this world having made a difference in these individuals’ lives then I believe I have fulfilled my purpose. I have lived my why.
What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards defining/refining your own moral compass?
