It’s Not What You Get It’s What You Give

“What you get will never make you happy in the long term. Who you become and what you contribute will.”

-Tony Robbins

Does really anything that we get from life make us happy in the long run? If there is, it is very little. In other words it’s shelf life is rather limited. However as author, presenter and podcaster Tony Robbins points out in today’s quote what truly matters is what we give of ourselves, what we give to others. Remember the saying: it is better to give than it is to receive. We are facing some very dark times as a society.

However, in darkness there is always a glimmer of hope; a light. Receiving things in life will not help us in becoming the change we wish to see in the world; contributing to a cause, contributing to others will. It has been and will always be this way. The sooner we realize this as a society the better our future for tomorrow’s generation will be.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply today’s message towards becoming more socially aware?
