“The goal is not to be perfect by the end. The goal is to be better today.”
-Simon Sinek
When we look within our own moral compass, we look at the five areas that embody it: self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making. These are constantly be relied upon sometimes without us even consciously knowing that they are in all that we do. Will they lead us towards having an absolutely perfect day? No not a chance. Will it help guide us towards getting better each and everyday? More than likely.
In today’s quote by Author and speaker Simon Sinek is that our goal should never be to be perfect by the end of the day but rather be better today. That in itself is all we can ever hope for each and everyday: being better. Perfection is not impossible but highly unlikely. If we shoot for perfection we will miss more than often and it may damage our self confidence tremendously. We need to focus on those small wins, not the end result. We need to focus on getting on base, not hitting a home run every time we come up to bat. Life is a journey and we need to remember that. We should always be striving to be better than we were yesterday. Better in mind, body and spirit. When this occurs we will live a better life.
